EL CERRITO SEEKS RESIDENTS INPUT ON “NEIGHBORHOOD TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PROGRAM”

El Cerrito, CA: The City of El Cerrito Public Works Department is holding two community meetings to gain input from residents in the development of a Neighborhood Traffic Management Program.

“We need public input to identify common neighborhood traffic concerns and identify potential strategies to adequately address those concerns,” said City of El Cerrito Engineering Manager, Yvetteh Ortiz.

To participate in the development of a citywide Neighborhood Traffic Management Program, and share concerns and suggestions community members should attend a Neighborhood Traffic Management Program meeting. Neighborhood Traffic Management Program meetings will be held on March 25, 2010 at the El Cerrito Open House Senior Center (6500 Stockton Ave, El Cerrito) and again on March 31, 2010 at Arlington Clubhouse (1120 Arlington Blvd, El Cerrito). Community members may join either meeting anytime from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

Both meetings will explain the guidelines for effective traffic management and the importance of an efficient program.

The El Cerrito Neighborhood Traffic Management Program is being developed to design and implement traffic management plans in appropriate neighborhoods around El Cerrito. The program will be developed by the Public Works Department in direct association with community members. The goal of the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program is to improve traffic conditions on certain residential streets.
