Henig, emeritus professor of history at California Sate University, East Bay, has authored numerous books and articles on Lincoln and the Civil War. By focusing on Lincoln as emancipator, commander in chief, political leader, constitutionalist, architect of reconstruction and as an uncommon common man, Professor Henig will attempt to separate fact from fiction. Professor Henig is known for his dynamic lecture style and is the recipient of numerous "Best Instructor" awards. He will have autographed copies of his book "A Nation Transformed: How the Civil War Changed America Forever" available for purchase. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Kensington Library. The Kensington Library is located at 61 Arlington Avenue, Kensington.
