Who: The deYoung Museum Where: Kensington Library, 61 Arlington Avenue, Kensington, CA 94707 Public Info: This event is free Contact Information: Louise O’Dea, lodea@ccclib.org, 510-524-3043 Our program features a talk and slide show by a docent from the deYoung Museum about Tutankhamun, ancient Egypt’s celebrated “boy king,” More than 3,000 years after his reign, and 30 years after the original exhibition opened in San Francisco, Tutankhamun returns to the de Young Museum and will remain there until March 2010. Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs, is an exhibit of over 130 outstanding works from the king’s tomb, as well as those of his royal predecessors, his family, and court officials. The exhibit includes many new elements not seen previously and additional artifacts from Tutankhamun’s tomb. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Kensington Library. The Kensington Library is located at 61 Arlington Avenue, Kensington. The library is open Mondays and Tuesdays 12 to 8 p.m., closed Wednesdays, open Thursdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 to 5 p.m. Phone: 510-524-3043.
