Fraction game
MATERIALS: 6 by 10 grid paper for each player, 2 dice for the group
GOAL: Shade in all 10 grids on your paper
SET UP: Decide and write down which die will represent the numerator and which will designate the denominator.
Each person rolls one die. Player who rolls the highest number goes first; play proceeds clockwise.
DURING YOUR TURN: Roll both dice. Your roll represents a fraction. Convert to 60ths and shade that number of squares in one of the grids.
Example:
Player rolls a 3 on the numerator die and a 5 on the denominator die. This represents 3/5, which is equal to 36/60, so the player shades 36 squares.
END OF THE GAME: The game ends when one player has shaded all 10 grids, or until time is up.
