New book about El Cerrito, Harem Scarem in El Cerrito, released

The El Cerrito Historical Society is pleased to announce that a new book about El Cerrito has been released. Former El Cerrito resident Neva Carpenter recently completed the new book. Neva is now 78 years old and lives near Fresno . She lived the first 13 of her 78 years in El Cerrito , when El Cerrito was still all farms and fields. The title of the book is “Harem Scarem in El Cerrito ”. The book is a very charming tale of those first 13 years and in it Neva vividly brings her childhood back to life. Reading Neva's memories makes one feel as if the events are happening for the first time to both the reader and the author.

The price of "Harem Scarem in El Cerrito " is $13.75, plus tax.
