Sept. 9 event celebrates publication of society's new book

The El Cerrito Historical Society will be hosting an event to mark the official publication of the society's new book.  It will be held at the El Cerrito Library on Stockton Avenue (6510 Stockton) at 5:30 pm on Friday, Sept. 9.  The public is invited and there is no fee.  The event will include a slide show featuring some of the pictures from the book.  Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event and refreshments will be served.

The book is titled "Images of America: El Cerrito" and is part of Arcadia Publishing's well-known series on local history.  The book is being published the week of September 5th and should be available from local merchants by the end of that week.
